How does the magnetic track differ from a zipper screen?
Unlike zipper screens that pinch fabric into side tracks where it can be ripped by force or warp the track, MagnaTrack uses industrial magnets to secure the screen material. If excessive pressure is applied to the screen, the magnets release to prevent the screen from breaking or damaging the tracks. Simply lifting and lowering the screen once will reactivate the magnets to secure your screen back in place. MagnaTrack is great for both home and business applications.
Are the Defender Hurricane Screens officially rated for severe storms?
Yes. The Defender is designed to be Category 5 Hurricane Rated. Made from a Kevlar-like material, the screen face fabric has been put through extreme testing and proven to resist wind speeds in excess of 156 mph while providing actual impact protection from high velocity projectiles.
